Although temperature meters are widely used, the number and range of applications are the highest among field instruments, but their overall market size is relatively small compared to other field instruments and analytical instruments. The market size of transmitters and analytical instruments is more than 2 billion yuan, and the market size of flow instruments is more than 4 billion yuan.
There are many domestic temperature instrument manufacturers, especially temperature sensor manufacturers, and their products are relatively complicated. In the field of temperature instruments, foreign manufacturers are mainly based on high-end products, compared with the smaller market size. So at present for foreign manufacturers, the effective market scale of temperature instruments is relatively small, and the market size of a single product series is not large enough, and foreign manufacturers have insufficient localized production power.
Small product size, lower transportation cost than other instrument products
Generally speaking, another important factor for localized production is to save transportation costs and supply efficiency, and to increase the price competitiveness of products sold locally.
Compared with other instruments such as flow meters, the temperature meter is relatively small in size, and it is relatively convenient to transport from abroad and the cost is relatively small. So the cost saving effect brought by localized production is not obvious.
Product raw material localization purchase is not satisfied
Foreign manufacturers' temperature instrument products are more high-end products, and their raw material purchases are more imported from abroad. Even if localized production, raw materials still rely heavily on imports, so the advantages of localized production in terms of cost savings are not obvious.
