Some companies require on-line and real-time sensing systems for indicators that monitor the efficiency, vibration, and corrosion of heat exchangers and furnaces, and assess "health" conditions.

When the electrical conductivity is 10 ohm · cm, the "demarcation line" between the conductive medium and the dielectric is reached, and the thermal noise level increases significantly as the internal resistance increases.
